The failed EGR cooler will send coolant through your turbo. Mixing heat, soot and coolant in the exhausts side of a variable vane turbo will cause the turbo vanes to stick resulting in an over or under boost condition resulting in a MIL. We recommend to split it and clean it.

This STC fitting kit is a recommended update for all Power stroke 6.0 from 2004-2007. The old style fitting was prone to leaking causing hard start, below normal oil pressures and stalling when engine reaches normal operating temperature. Highly recommended updating this part when you're replacing your EGR cooler, installing a EGR delete or oil cooler.

When the oil cooler blows it mixes engine oil with engine coolant in this process plugs your radiator, and contaminates your engine coolant. In the process of the performance upgrade it is recommended to install a new oil cooler.

Once good gaskets and ARP Head Studs are installed, the 6.0 Power strokes are extremely reliable. Take your time and do the job right with quality parts. We have several 6.0 Power stroke engines in shop vehicles that have over 300,000 miles on them. With proper maintenance and addressing some of the weak points they can be made to be great reliable engines. DeLong Ford only installs genuine Ford OEM parts in your Powerstroke Diesel engines!!
